Whether you love it or hate it, Musikfest week is upon us!

I am pretty neutral about the whole thing. I like to walk down 2-3 times during the week and do some people watching. Of course, I fill up my mug and make it a priority to have my yearly gyro and Aw Shucks. The music is pretty great too! 🙂

However, I know that that the largest free music festival in the country also comes with some drawbacks. The traffic, noise, disruption to routine (no evening classes at the Yoga Loft this week!) and sometimes bad behavior among festival attendees has caused many Bethlehemites to flee their hometown for the week or at the very least, COMPLAIN ABOUT IT!

So this week, I would like to introduce a super simple breathing exercise that may allow us to embrace Musikfest and everything that comes with it. At the very least, it can help calm the brain and nervous system in times of stress all year round.

Instructions:
Inhale for a count of 3.
Exhale for a count of 6.
Pause at the bottom of your exhale for 1-2 beats.
Repeat 3-8 times.
Fill up your mug. 😉
